1. Understanding Sizes & Scales

1/3 Scale (SD size)
Typically 55cm to 75cm tall. They have mature, detailed features and a strong presence.
1/4 Scale (MSD size)
Typically 40cm to 45cm tall. They usually resemble teenagers or children and are perfect for posing and carrying around.
1/6 Scale (YOSD size)
Typically 25cm to 30cm tall. They are cute, toddler-like, and easy to handle for beginners.

2. Decoding the Terminology

Blank / Nude Doll
You will receive a fully assembled resin doll without any makeup, eyes, or clothes. A blank canvas for your own creativity!
Face-up
The beautiful, hand-painted makeup on the doll's face. If you select "With Face-up," our artists will paint the doll to look like the promotional photos.
Full Set
The ultimate package. It includes the doll, face-up, wig, eyes, and the specific outfit shown in the photos. Perfect for beginners who want a complete look right out of the box.

3. The Art of Waiting (Lead Time)

One of the biggest surprises for beginners is the wait time. Because SoulBJD dolls are not mass-produced plastic toys, they are individually cast from resin and hand-painted after you place your order. This meticulous crafting process takes 3 to 6 months. Think of this waiting period as time to prepare your doll's wardrobe and build excitement!

4. Basic Care Rules

Avoid Direct Sunlight
UV rays are resin’s biggest enemy and will accelerate "yellowing" (a natural aging process of resin)
Clean Hands
Clean Hands
Always wash your hands before handling your doll to prevent transferring oils and dirt onto the matte resin surface.
Use Magic Erasers
If the unpainted resin body gets a scuff, gently rub it with a slightly damp melamine sponge (Magic Eraser). Never use this on the face-up!

5. Supporting Original Art

The BJD community thrives on the passion of its artists. We strongly stand against Recasts (counterfeit/bootleg dolls). Buying a recast harms the original sculptors and the industry. At SoulBJD, every doll comes with a unique Certificate of Authenticity. Wear your original doll with pride!
